Re: Making a will
Oh dear, the hard done by sibling has to prove that they have severe financial hardship such that their parent would not have wished to neglect their child in that situation. When it happens the Judge might grant the complainant a few grand but nothing like equal share of the estate.

You can try to ensure "who doesn't benefit" from your Estate, but the State are listening to claims from siblings that don't benefit quite as much as others.

The States view is the sibling that is left without will need to claim more benefits as they age.

Not that I agree with it, but there you go.

Re: Making a will
One important advantage of making a Will is that you can ensure who does not benefit from your estate.

Re: Making a will
Just updated mine funnily enough. Also got my Lasting Powers of Attorney checked (Property & Financial Affairs and Health & Welfare) In all seriousness I would advise anyone to talk to their parents about this and sort LPA's for yourself because when my late mum got ill with dementia in 2019 I was her POA and dealing with her affairs with a POA was hard enough, it's extremely difficult without them.
